It is easy to get around in Limassol as it is a relatively small city and also very easy to learn. Limassol has 4 main roads almost running in parallel and crossing the city from West to East. Starting from the South part of the city and goind North we have:
- The avenue running parallel to the beach. Starts from the small roundout of Limassol old port going (always following the coast line) outside of Limassol. Its naming is separated into a number of parts: Spyrou Araouzou then Christodoulou Hadjipavlou, then Octovriou 28.
- The main Limassol avenue: Makarios III Avenue. Running almost through the center of the city.
- The relatively new, Spyros Kyprianou Avenue (otherwise known as Makedonias Avenue) which again crosses the city from West to East.
- And finally, the highway, which, with its newly completed bridges, allows traffic going from Paphos to Nicosia (and vice versa) to bypass the 6 round abouts.
You will never find a huge traffic in Limassol. Especially, now, with the introduction of the highway bridges, bottlenecks are reduced to a minimum.
Even if you don't have your own car to travel around Limassol there is a very good taxi system as you can find a taxi almost instantly. There is also a moderate bus service running from 7am to 7pm with busses crossing the town from one end to the other.
Choosing to buy one of our villas in Limassol, also adds some privacy in terms of traffic as our villas are usually built in areas which give you exclusive access. |
